The library is the central hub of learning in the school. It is the place where young minds initiate their learning journey and plays a vital role in the academic success and shaping the personality of students and educators. BHS School library has a huge and varied collection of books ranging from fiction, motivational, spiritual, music, craft, sports and literary classics. It caters to the need of kindergarten and primary children. It also has an enviable collection of pictorial books for our preschoolers and the precious collection of encyclopedias and reference books stands out as many of them are not available in print now. As it is an old library, many books are rare and copyright free. Keeping in track with the technological innovation, the library has now automatized its various house keeping functions and the book database is now accessible through the ERP module of the school.
Students need to be aware of technological advancements to be successful in their academic pursuits. It is the era where information is considered as “power” and the country needs to train children to be competent enough to face the challenges of the everchanging technology. The students can use this as a tool to enhance their knowledge and creativity. The school has set up a state-of the art computer laboratory with the latest configured processors and a high speed internet connectivity to give our children access to the astounding world of computers. Students are taught concepts of computers and have a handson experience of learning and implementing theoretical principles of computation.
Cricket is a widely played outdoor game. There are many complexities and rules related to cricket. One can’t play or understand the game without knowing them, but eventually with watching and playing the game one gets familiar with the game.Playing cricket has various health benefits, one is likely to remain fit if he is a regular player, along with that, cricket would help one in building on various other skills as well, say it helps one develop the side of inter-personal skills, leadership, team-work, will power and stronger self-esteem .Baroda High School Bagikhana has introduced cricket under Champions Academy for students of Std VI to Std VIII .We have specialized coach for coaching our students.
Music is the universal language of humanity. It makes education more enjoyable and creates a positive aura in the school environment, relieving children from the stress of competitive education. Keeping that in mind the school management thought of teaching music as a subject long back in the 60’s. The school has a vibrant and rustic music room nestled among the lovely green campus of the school. The music room has different types of instruments which are taught to students as a part of their regular curriculum. The school band has won many accolades at the district and state level. Students trained here participate in Kalamahakumbh and other music festivals and make the school proud.
Bharatanatyam is a major form of Indian classical dance. It is one of the eight widely recognized Indian classical dance forms.
We at Baroda High School have highly qualified experienced dance teacher for training and guiding our students.
The Hockey Game has much importance in India as it is our National sports of India. Mental strength is as important as physical strength when playing a sport like a hockey. Hockey is not only physically demanding but can be mentally stressful. One needs to be good at decision making and planning strategies. Playing this sport continuously can help athletes stronger mentally. Hockey players develop powerful relationships and often lasting friendships with their teammates. Specially trained professional Hockey coach train our students of Class III to VIII everyday for Hockey.
